Blood Of The Martyrs

Description

'Blood Of The Martyrs'/'After The Barricade'/'Blood Of Angry Men'

Any one of those titles.
This is what I've been working on in art for a few weeks. We had to use layers with tissue paper, scraps of wall paper/cardboard other random shit, inks, pens, pencils, graphite, etc.

The barricades are layers and layers of paper and cardboard covered by wallpaper then gone over with loads of dark purple/blue inks, and some tissue paper.
The big red patch is Enjolras' flag, darkened and torn, because the great leader and the resistance fell. The other, smaller red patches, are the pools and splashes of the blood of the rebels ('Blood of angry men').
The background is dark purple with some red - it is dark to symbolise the oppression of the people of Paris (Black, the dark of ages past/night that ends at last)
The buildings in the distance are also black, but behind them is a beautiful sunrise, that dyes the whole sky red (Red, a world about to dawn), finally ending the darkness (Black, the night that ends at last)
A small red flag, still undamaged, showing that there is still hope, and again to signal the end of the people's oppression.
The lyrics on the background (if you can't read them) read (not in caps):
Red! The blood of angry men! Black! The dark of ages past!
Red! A world about to dawn! Black! The night that ends at last!
Some will fall and some will live, will you stand up and take your chance? The blood of the martyers will water the meadows of France!
Empty chairs at empty tables, now my friends are dead and gone

WOW guys!
Do you like it? I worked hard on it. I'm pretty impressed with it. I especially liked how the barricades turned out, and the sunrise, and the lyrics.
Hey look, a tribute to my own fan-verse (Gavroche's flag~)
Sir told me to add clouds to it, so now the sunset is also surrounded by huge black clouds, to show how (at the time) the new world was struggling to break through the night (thar you go!)
I felt like explaining the symbols I put it, because I did it on purpose, and though you can interpret it slightly differently if you wish this is how it's intended to be seen.

Hope you like it, really hoping for feedback
*Graaagh, it's sideways!! I'll fix it soon.
